Viking Hockey Falls to No. 12/14 St. Cloud State Saturday Night, 2-1

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Augustana hockey team (3-3, 0-0 CCHA) dropped a Saturday night non-conference game to No. 12/14 St. Cloud State (6-1, 0-0 NCHC) by a score of 2-1. Owen Bohn collected the lone goal for Augustana in the second period off passes from Hunter Bischoff and Hayden Hennen. Christian Manz made his collegiate debut in net with 28 saves.

SCSU opened up the scoring in the early moments of the first period as Josh Luedtke found himself in open space between the circles for his first of the season. Manz collected nine saves while the Vikings recorded nine shots on goal.

Augustana answered 4:20 into the second period as Bohn recorded his third goal of the weekend and fifth overall to even the score at 1-1. Bohn's goal came off passes from Bischoff and Hennen. The Huskies regained the lead three minutes after the Vikings goal as Josh Zinger tallied his second of the season off a shot from the point.

Both teams battled for possession throughout the third period. Midway through the final frame, Luke Mobley was dinged for a two-minute minor but Augustana's penalty kill remained strong and kept the Vikings within reach.
