ST. PAUL, Minn. – Josh Kotai of Augustana men's hockey was named CCHA Goalie of the Month, announced by the CCHA on Wednesday afternoon. Kotai recorded a 3-2 record throughout October with a 1.63 goals against average and a .950 save percentage. Kotai's honor is the first monthly award in program history. 

Kotai totaled two shutouts in five starts and helped backstop the Vikings to a weekend sweep over then-No. 12 Omaha on Oct. 18-19. 

The sophomore netminder is ranked fifth in the country for save percentage and is tied for first in the nation in shutouts with four other goalies. He holds a winning percentage of .600 and is 12th in the nation in goals against average. 

Kotai was named CCHA Goalie of the Week on Oct. 21 for his weekend against Omaha. 

Augustana closes out its stretch of road games as it opens up conference play next weekend at St. Thomas. Puck drop is slated for 7:07 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at 6:07 p.m.
