SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The NSIC Champion Augustana football team saw five of its members honored as part of the D2CCA Football All-Super Region 4 teams announced Thursday. On the first team,
Jarod Epperson earned his second honor and
Peyton Buckley earned his fourth all-region accolades from the Conference Commissioner's Association. CJ James,
Isaiah Huber and
Haden Wallace were all members of the second team.
First Team Offense
Jarod Epperson | Running Back | Omaha, Neb.
Augustana's all-time career rushing leader, Epperson finished his final season earning NSIC Offensive Player of the Year honors after running for 1042 yards and 11 touchdowns in 11 games. He led the NSIC with 5.95 yards per carry and 118.36 all-purpose yards per game. Epperson scored multiple touchdowns in four games and ran for at least 100 yards in five games.
First Team Defense
Peyton Buckley | Defensive Back | Rice Lake, Wis.
Buckley was the NSIC Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 84 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He tallied 59 solo stops and nine pass breakups with a total of 10 passes defended. Buckley anchored a defense that finished in the top two of the NSIC in interceptions, red zone defense, scoring defense and fourth down conversion percentage. He is also second in program history with 43 career passes defended (30 PBU, 12 INT).
Second Team Offense
C.J. James | Offensive Line | Des Moines, Iowa
James, a first-team performer a year ago, earns his first all-region honor after starting all 11 games at left guard and center. He has now blocked for an Offensive Player of the Year, two 1,000 yard rushers and two of the most efficient quarterbacks in the country in the last two seasons.
Isaiah Huber | Return Specialist | Rochester, Minn.
Huber, a junior wide receiver, earns his first region honor for his return prowess. He is second in the NSIC with 24.3 yards per kick return and is third with 10.0 punt return yards per game. His 93.27 all-purpose yards per game ranks fifth in the NSIC.
Second Team Defense
Haden Wallace | Linebacker | Kansas City, Mo.
The Vikings' leading tackler racked up 96 tackles on the year with 9.0 tackles for loss and two sacks. He secured a pair of interceptions and broke up four passes. Wallace, a team captain, earned first team all-conference honors for the second consecutive season after starting all 12 games at linebacker.
