SIOUX FALLS S.D. – Augustana hockey (11-16-3) returns home for its first of a three-week home stand as the Vikings face off against Alaska Anchorage (11-15-2), Friday and Saturday in its inaugural season presented by First PREMIER Bank / PREMIER Bankcard.

The Friday and Saturday series is set for 7:07 p.m. and 6:07 p.m. inside Midco Arena. Both games will be televised on Midco Sports and streamed on FloHockey.
The Seawolves
UAA comes into the weekend on a three-game winning streak after beating Lindenwood on Feb. 16-17 and Long Island on Feb. 11.
Senior forward Ben Almquist leads the Seawolves in points with 22 by way of seven goals and 15 assists while riding a five-game point streak. Maximilion Helgeson and Riley Thompson join Almquist with 17 and 16 points each.
Alaska Anchorage has leaned on Jared Whale throughout the majority of the season, starting in 21 games and holding a record of 8-11-1. Whale holds a goals-against-average of 2.67 and a save percentage of .913. The sophomore goaltender backstopped the Seawolves in their big wins over Penn State, Wisconsin, and Providence.
The Vikings
Augustana is coming off a weekend split against Lake Superior on Feb. 16-17, losing Friday's affair 3-0 before bouncing back to a 3-0 win on Saturday. The last time the Vikings were at home they swept St. Thomas by scores of 4-2 and 2-1.
Zack Rose recorded the first shutout in program history against Lake Superior State on Saturday, Feb. 17 as he made 30 saves in his first start since Friday, Jan. 26 against Ferris State where he also collected the first goalie point in program history. Rose has started in 13 games throughout the season, holding a record of 5-5-2.
Junior defenseman
Brady Ziemer leads the Vikings with 63 blocked shots through 30 games. Ziemer has soaked 21 more shots than the second-highest Viking with 42.
Augustana sits 38th in the pairwise ranking and is the second-highest-ranked CCHA member behind Minnesota State and before St. Thomas and Bemidji State.
One Last Thing
Jack Jensen is the first player in Augustana program history to sign a pro contract. Jensen inked a deal with the Idaho Steelheads of the East Coast Hockey League, on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The Minnesota native suited up in 15 games for the Vikings and tallied eight points by way of four goals and four assists.
