SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana softball team is back in action on Friday and Saturday with a pair of games in domes due to forecasted weather. On Friday, the Vikings will face Northern State in Sioux Center, Iowa, at the America State Bank Sport Complex at 6 and 8 p.m. On Saturday, AU will face MSU Moorhead in Northfield, Minnesota, in the Dundas Dome with games at 1 and 3 p.m. The contests open NSIC action for Augustana, the three-time defending league champions.

About the Wolves
Northern State, tabbed to finish 12
th in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll, is 14-6 after having just played 10 games in Florida to the tune of a 6-4 record. Lexi Chase leads the Wolves with a .468 batting average while Elly Smith leads the team with 18 RBI.

McKenzie Wanner and Taylor Coleman each own four wins in the circle while Wanner has the team-low 2.42 ERA.

About the Dragons
MSU Moorhead is 13-9 in 2024 and was picked to finish sixth in this year's NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll. In similar fashion as Augustana's Spring Break, the Dragons toured the state of Missouri while collecting five wins in eight games. Most recently, MSUM swept Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Missouri.

Chloe Makinney leads the Dragons with a .364 average while as a team MSUM has hit three home runs. The pitching staff is led by Azalya Lopez and her 2.45 ERA while owning a 6-4 record.

Augustana's offense came to life in a 19-2 win in its last game as part of a sweep of Northwest Missouri State. Augustana accounted for 15 hits in the contest with a 4-for-4 effort from
Torri Chute with her three home runs. The Vikings are now 15-12 on the year

Desi Cuevas leads AU with a .407 batting average combining 11 extra base hits as part of her 35 total base hits on the season. Chute jumped into the team lead with five home runs while leading AU with 24 RBI after a school record 10 RBI in the aforementioned 19-2 win.

Grace Glanzer continues to lead the Vikings in the pitching circle as she is 6-3 with a 0.75 ERA. She has struck out 72 batters in 72 innings.
Helene Krage started the Vikings' last game to pick up her first win of the season as she has tossed 17.2 innings with a 2.55 ERA.
