GREENSBORO, N.C. – Augustana's
Jack Hines was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America First Team, announced by the ABCA All-America committee on Friday.
Hines becomes a 2024 consensus First Team All-American after already being named NCBWA and D2CCA All-American. He becomes the third consensus First Team All-American in program history and the sixth to be named to the ABCA/Rawlings First Team.
The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 19. The ABCA NCAA Div. II Region All-Defensive teams will be announced on Thursday, June 20. The ABCA National Pitcher and Position Player of the Year will be announced on Monday, June 24.
Hailing from Lombard, Illinois, Hines had a standout senior campaign in 2024, batting .445 with 93 hits, 21 home runs, 89 RBI, 77 runs scored, 178 total bases, an .852 slugging percentage and a 1.337 OPS. He was the only player in the country to rank in the top 10 nationally for each category.
The NSIC Player of the Year broke the program single-season records in slugging percentage, home runs, RBI and total bases while adding top-five marks in batting average, runs scored, hits and triples.
In his three-year Viking career, Hines left his mark. He ranks top-10 in career batting average (.387), slugging percentage (.676), on-base percentage (.466), runs scored (178), hits (237), home runs (37), RBI (171), total bases (414) and double plays turned (68) while resetting the triples (14) and times hit by pitch (42) records.
The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 40 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
