SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Fresh off winning an NSIC Championship, Augustana softball has been selected as the No. 4 seed in the Central Region and will play No. 5 seed Oklahoma Baptist to open up the tournament. The Regionals are scheduled to be played May 9-11.
Four teams will participate at each of the 16 regional sites in double-elimination tournaments with winners advancing to the super-regionals, slated for May 14-15.
In Central 1 Region, the Vikings will play its games in Pittsburg, Kansas, and will be joined by OBU, No. 1 seed Pittsburg State and No. 8 seed Southern Arkansas.
Central 2 Region will be held in Claremore, Oklahoma by No. 2 seed Rogers State. The remaining three teams are No. 3 Central Oklahoma, No. 6 Washburn and No. 7 Southern Nazarene.
Augustana clinched an automatic bid after winning the NSIC Championship last Saturday as it beat Minnesota Duluth 9-0.
