Stevens Punches Ticket to National Championship

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Molly Stevens of Augustana women's golf punched her ticket to the NCAA National Championship in Orlando, Florida as the second individual after a combined stroke count of 223. Stevens is one of eight individuals who clinched a spot in the championships held May 21-25 at the Orange County National Golf Center.

How it Happened
  • Stevens finished fifth in the individual standings after a round 77 on day three. She pulled together rounds of 72, 74 and 77 for a final stroke count of 223. Stevens led the tournament with 11 birdies. 
  • Lanie Veenendall finished the tournament with a stroke count of 228 and a tie for 14th.  She compiled the fourth-most pars with 36. 
  • Shannon McCormick had the best score on day three for the Vikings with a round of 74, she finished the tournament with a stroke count of 239. 
  • Lauren Tims had a stroke count of 240 after rounds of 80, 82 and 78. She tallied 26 pars and five birdies. 
  • Mattie Weidenbach was one of only three individuals to score an eagle throughout the tournament. She finished with a stroke count of 262. 
  • Augustana compiled 137 pars, 28 birdies and one eagle. 
Up Next
Stevens will take the next week to prepare as she heads down to Orlando, Florida to take on 18 teams and seven other individual qualifiers. The tournament will be held at Orange County National Golf Center on May 21-25.
