Augustana Announced as NCATA National Championship Site for 2025 Season

9/24/2024 10:47:00 AM

The National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) today announced Augustana University and the Elmen Center as the host site for the 2025 National Championships. The event travels to Sioux Falls for the first time in the association's history in 2025. The announcement was conjoined with the announcement of Azusa Pacific University hosting the 2026 National Championships.

"The NCATA is pleased to announce the next two host institutions for the NCATA National Championships in 2025 and 2026," said NCATA Executive Director Janell Cook. "Augustana University and Azusa Pacific University will deliver special experiences for participating student-athletes and fans while showcasing the sport of acrobatics & tumbling in their communities, regions and states.

"Our organization is fortunate to be full of leaders at member institutions who are committed to building new opportunities for women at the collegiate level. We are appreciative of the work they do to provide student-athletes with high-quality experiences."

Since opening in February 1989, Augustana students, staff and faculty, as well as the Sioux Falls community and region, have enjoyed attending a wide variety of events in the Elmen Center. The 81,000-square-foot-facility is available more than 110 hours each week for a variety of recreational activities.

"We are thrilled to bring the best in the sport to Sioux Falls this spring," said Josh Morton, Augustana University Vice President for Athletics. "Our community has quickly realized what a great spectator sport Acrobatics & Tumbling is and now schools from around the country will get to see what a sports loving and vibrant city Sioux Falls is. This is also a chance for the student-athletes in our very young program to earn their way to compete on their home turf."

"We are eager to bring the 2025 NCATA National Championship to South Dakota for the first time," said Head Coach Kaelyn Dillon. "We cannot wait for the acrobatics and tumbling qualifiers to experience the city of Sioux Falls while showcasing Augustana University. We are excited to celebrate the best teams in the country alongside our community."

Additional information regarding the championship schedule, event tickets and live streaming will be available in the spring.
