LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following one of the most successful seasons in Augustana softball history, the Vikings are ranked seventh in the opening National Fastpitch Coaches Association preseason poll of the 2025 season, officials announced Tuesday.
 
Augustana is the only NSIC team to be featured in the preseason ranking, garnering 310 points in the poll. The Vikings secured a dominant 50-15 record during the 2024 season, clinching the NSIC Regular Season and Tournament Championship titles while earning the NCAA Central Super Regional Championship with a berth to the NCAA Championship.
 
AU will kick off the 2025 season at the Mardi Gras Invitational in Youngsville, La., from Friday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 2. The Vikings will face six teams over the three days of competition and are set to face Mississippi College and Southern Arkansas on opening day.
