SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana Vice President for Athletics Josh Morton has announced the winners of the 2024 Fall Semester of the AD's Academic Achievement Award. For the eighth-straight semester, the Viking men's cross country team earned the honor while the AU women's swimming and diving team garnered the award for the first time.

The award, first handed out in the 2020-21 academic year, honors the top men's and women's team GPA for each semester. The women's swimming and diving team boosted their cumulative to a 3.66 GPA while the men's cross country squad had a 3.65 GPA.

"I'm so proud of all of our teams for the strong showing across all of our sports," Morton said. "When you consider the winners of the AD's Academic Achievement Award are also reigning conference champions, it's once again proof that at Augustana you can pursue excellence in competition and distinction in the classroom."

In total, Augustana Athletics saw a 3.37 term GPA and hold a combined cumulative GPA of 3.45 across all 22 sports. 85 total athletes carried a 4.0 GPA throughout the fall semester.
