LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Augustana swimming and diving teams were one of 459 institutions named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the fall 2024 semester.
The women's team posted a 3.63 GPA while the men's squad held a 3.38 GPA to earn the honors. The two teams were part of 19,209 student-athletes chosen based on their outstanding academic performance during the fall semester.
"This recognition honors programs that achieve the highest standards in the classroom while representing their institution in the pool," Samantha Barany, executive director of the CSCAA said. "Coach
Andrew Makepeace, his staff, and the entire team have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to success both academically and athletically, setting a standard of excellence we can all be proud of."
The Augustana women are currently ranked No. 22 in NCAA Division II and the reigning NSIC Champions. The men's squad, just four years old, will be competing in the GLIAC Championships beginning Friday, Feb. 19 in Holland, Michigan.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
