Vikings Return Home to Face Golden Eagles and Beavers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – No. 14 Augustana softball returns to Bowden Field for Alumni Weekend, hosting Minnesota-Crookston on Saturday and Bemidji State on Sunday. Game times are set for 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, while Sunday will serve as Senior Day.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Minnesota-Crookston is 15-26 overall and 3-11 in conference play after splitting a Wednesday series with Bemidji State, winning 4-2 and dropping 9-1.
 
Hannah Trzinski leads with a .337 batting average with 33 hits and 17 RBI. Chayse Doering has added in a pair of homeruns with her eight stolen bases while batting .299 and Irelyn Spencer has brought in 15 RBI.
 
Alexa Guilford has led the charge in the circle, collecting a 4-1 record through 41.2 innings pitched. She holds a 2.02 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP while tallying 18 strikeouts. Delaney Penner (5-5) has a 3.02 ERA while a 1.44 WHIP in 55.2 inning of work.
 
ABOUT THE BEAVERS
Following a series split with Minnesota-Crookston on Wednesday, Bemidji State is 16-24 so far this season with a 3-13 showing in the NSIC.
 
Aimee Christenson is batting .360 to lead the offensive while Mariah Stevenson has collected 43 hits and 23 RBI. Jackie Larsen has tallied 17 stolen bases on 18 attempts as Stevenson, Alexa Christenson and Calleigh Richards have all knocked out a homerun.
 
In the circle, Kennedy Joachim holds a 2.63 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP across 119.2 innings pitched. She's accrued a 10-8 record in 20 appearances with 124 strikeouts. Payton Prissel is 3-5 on the year with a 4.52 ERA and a 1.73 whip in her 52.2 innings of work.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Augustana holds a perfect 30-0 record all-time against Minnesota-Crookston, most recently sweeping the away doubleheader series on April 14, 2024 by scores of 22-1 and 11-3. Against the Beavers, the Vikings have the 29-2 historical advantage after sweeping the April 13, 2024 series with 6-0 and 9-3 victories.
 
ABOUT THE VIKINGS
Following a weekend sweep of University of Mary and Minot State, Augustana heads into the week with a 31-9 overall record this season and a 13-3 conference showing.
 
Desi Cuevas holds a .379 batting average with 50 hits to go with her 33 RBI, 19 stolen bases and nine homeruns. Andrea Cain holds a slash line of .365/.487/.714 while adding in 46 hits, 28 RBI, 26 walks, 13 doubles and seven homers and Ashton Dorman is right behind with a .346 average, 32 RBI and 45 hits.
 
In 143.2 innings of work, Grace Glanzer has collected 158 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .200 batting average. She's 16-6 in her 22 appearances and maintains a 1.27 ERA—which leads the NSIC—and a .88 WHIP. Lexi Lander is 14-3 on the season in 20 appearances, striking out 99 batters in 95.0 innings with an ERA of 1.62 and opponent batting average of .214.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
In its final home weekend of the regular season, Augustana will host Concordia-St. Paul on Friday, April 18 and Winona State on Saturday, April 19 at Bowden Field.
