WAYNE, Neb. – Shannon McCormick of Augustana women's golf secured a first-place finish in the Wildcat Classic held at Wayne Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. In a 14-team field, Augustana finished in third with a team stroke count of 638.

How it Happened

• McCormick secured first place in a sudden-death tee-off with Wayne State's Saffire Sayre, putting in a four on the first hole and securing the tournament win. McCormick finished a stroke count of 154 with rounds of 76 and 78. She tallied four birdies and one eagle through two rounds. 
• Anna Eckmann finished in a tie for seventh with a stroke count of 159. Eckmann jumped 19 spots on round two with a final-day round of 75.
• Lanie Veenendall finished behind Eckmann in a tie for 11th after she shot rounds of 79 and 81 for a stroke count of 160.
• Masy Mock finished in a tie for 29th after she shot a stroke count of 165. Mock collected one birdie in each round.
• Mattie Weidenbach closed out the team finishers in 50th with a stroke count of 172 after she shot rounds of 86 and 86.
• Payton Drefke entered individually and finished in a tie for 24th after rounds of 83 and 81.
