Acrobatics & Tumbling Gives Home Crowd A Show In NCATA Semifinals Against No. 1 Baylor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The No. 4 Augustana acrobatics & tumbling team saw its team season come to a close at the NCATA national semifinals, falling to No. 1 Baylor 279.325-256.465 on Friday night inside the Elmen Center.

Notes
- Augustana finishes the season with a program record seven victories and 4-1 against ranked opponents. 
- The Vikings saw improvements from the quarterfinal meet in both the pyramid and toss heats of the compulsory event. 
- In the Acro event, Augustana had an incredible third heat, earning 0.1 more points than they did the night before. 
- The Vikings had another impressive showing in the pyramid, finishing with less than one point of deductions. 
- The biggest growth came in the toss event as the Vikings had higher totals in all three heats than the night before. 
- Katheryn Mathers saw her 6 Element Pass score rise from the night before after an incredible performance. 
- To close the night, the Vikings earned nearly three more points in the team event than last night, wowing the crowd of nearly 1,200 spectators. 

Up Next
The Vikings will participate in eight events on Sunday for the event final. They will be competing in one acro event, all three pyramids, a toss, two tumbling events and Paige Simon will also compete as an individual tumbler.
