About the Game
The Vikings enter the week after a thrashing of Bemidji State last weekend. Augustana enters the game on a seven-game Viking Days win streak after knocking off Minnesota Duluth last season.
Scouting the Enemy
The Warriors are 2-2 on the season and 2-1 in the NSIC after knocking off Minot State last weekend. The Warriors are led by Jackson Flottmeyer, a sophomore signal caller that has thrown for 630 yards and six touchdowns.
Winona State was picked to finish ninth in the NSIC Preseason Poll and fifth in the South Division.Jahmani Muhammed has established himself as one of the most dangerous return men in all of DII, ranking 16th in the country with 248 combined return yards. Defensively, Conner Haggerty leads the NSIC with two forced fumbles.
Weekend Rewind
The Augustana football team made a statement with a 42-14 road victory over Bemidji State.
Gunnar Hensley went 21 for 25 with 196 yards and three touchdowns in the air and added 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground to power the offense.
Ryan Kenny added his first career 100-yard rushing game with 121 yards and a pair of scores. Also finding the end zone twice was
Klayton Sattler, whose three catches earned him 47 yards.
27 different players recorded a tackle defensively, led by five each from
Cade Larson and
Ashton Toll.
Quinton Adams and
Gradee Sherman had two breakups apiece and
Logan Leonard had an interception.
This (Game)Day in History
Augustana has played on September 27th 15 previous times, going 9-6 in those games. It will be the first game on September 27 since 2014, a 52-0 thrashing of UMary. The first game played on September 27th came in 1929 in a 19-2 home loss to Buena Vista. AU is 6-2 on this date at home and have won the previous six games.
The only other loss came to Dakota Wesleyan in 1930 in what was the first night game to ever be played in the city of Sioux Falls. They played on 29th and Prairie at Augustana Field, a space that now sits between the Morrison Commons and the Administration Building.

80 different Vikings have played over the first two weeks, including 20 Vikings that have made their AU debut.
Josh Larsen, a transfer from South Dakota, has made three starts at left guard and a start at center.
Klayton Sattler has 12 catches for 148 yards and three touchdowns after a two touchdown game against Bemidji State on September 20.
Neal May, a Minnesota State transfer, seven catches for 107 yards and 228 return yards.
Defensively, true freshman
Brody Shuss has 10 tackles, including one for loss.
RJ Eckhardt has a sack and a tackle for loss on fourth down and
Ashton Toll has a half sack to go with eight tackles.

Plenty of statistics have jumped off the page through four games for Augustana.
As a team, The Vikings are 54.4 percent on third down, the eighth best conversion rate in the country. The offense is 21st in nation with 84 first downs and their team completion percentage (68.3%) is 12th. Augustana is one of 15 teams to have not thrown an interception while their 145 pass attempts is the most among that group. The Vikings are also tied for second in the country with just one turnover.
The yardage margins have also leaned in the Vikings favor. Augustana is 14th with 288.5 passing yards a game. Defensively, Augustana is 36th with 168.0 passing yards allowed per game. The defense has also allowed just 16.8 points per game, 23rd in the country.
The special teams have swarmed the opponents, ranking 13th with 14.2 kick return yards allowed per return while the return team averages 25.0 yards per return, the 35th most in the country.
