MINOT, N.D. - The Augustana men's basketball team won their third consecutive road matchup on Friday night, knocking off Minot State 82-75 on Friday night inside the Minot State Dome.

The Vikings (11-7, 9-4 NSIC) shot 50.9 percent (28 of 55) from the field and outrebounded the Beavers (8-11, 5-8 NSIC) 36-28. Tameron Ferguson led the offense yet again, scoring 24 points and dishing three assists while grabbing five rebounds.

Caden Hinker added 17 points and nine rebounds while Amari Westmoreland-Vendiola had 10 points and five boards. Tanner Te Slaa had nine points on three 3-pointers and added three steals. Bennett Fried had nine points and Sam Rensch added eight points.

After the Beavers opened the scoring, AU scored seven points in a flash. Hinker knocked down a jumper and then grabbed a rebound on the MISU possession. He got it down to Rensch, who helped get Te Slaa a clean look from deep to give the Vikings the lead and Ferguson got a steal and layup right after to make it 7-2 Vikings at the 18:27 mark of the first half.

MISU scored the next seven points to take a lead before a Rensch jumper evened the score at 9-9. After even play pushed the Beavers ahead by a point, Helgren got a layup and Fried followed a Rensch block with a dunk to give AU a 19-16 advantage with 12 minutes to go in the half.

The Beavers chipped back over the next five and a half minutes, eventually easing ahead 25-24. Amari Westmoreland-Vendiola ended the run with a jumper to reclaim the lead and Te Slaa hit another 3-pointer to grow that lead to 29-25. MISU scored the next four points but the third Te Slaa 3-pointer of the night put the Vikings ahead 32-29 with 4:51 to go.

After the game found itself tied at 34-34 with 3:08 to go, the game turned to Ferguson. He scored nine straight AU points to help power a 10-5 run to close the half, putting the Vikings ahead 44-39 at the break.

Augustana shot 17 of 29 from the field in the first half and 4 of 10 from deep. They outrebounded the Beavers 17-13 and outscored MISU 13-8 off the bench as Fried had nine first half points to fuel the bench unit. The late run put Ferguson at 14 first-half points while Te Slaa added nine points on three made 3-pointers.

The Beavers scored 13 of the first 20 points in the second half to take a 52-51 lead. The Vikings responded quickly, scoring the next six points to take a 57-52 lead with 11:46 to go. After an MISU jumper, Hinker scored four of the next five points to help push the lead to 62-54.
