SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana hockey returns to Midco Arena this weekend to begin conference play against Northern Michigan. The Vikings and Wildcats meet for a two-game series Friday and Saturday, with puck drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. Saturday.

Fans can follow both games through Midco Sports Plus and live statistics at GoAugie.com.

The Wildcats
Northern Michigan enters the weekend with a 2-4-0 record after opening its season with a split against Miami before dropping consecutive games to Michigan State. The Wildcats most recently split a home series against Stonehill, earning a 5-1 victory in the opener before falling 2-1 in overtime in the finale.

The Wildcats are led by head coach Dave Shyiak, who enters his third season at the helm of the Northern Michigan program. Northern Michigan finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 3-29-2 overall record and a 3-21-2 mark in CCHA play. The Wildcats will look to build momentum early in conference competition as they make their first trip of the season to Midco Arena.

Northern Michigan's early-season schedule has included several challenging non-conference matchups, including a series against Michigan State. The Wildcats will look to translate their recent offensive production into consistent results against an Augustana team that has started the season strongly.

The Vikings
Augustana enters the weekend with a 5-0-1 record after completing a road sweep of Ohio State last weekend. The Vikings earned a 3-2 overtime victory Friday before securing a 4-3 win Saturday, extending their unbeaten start to the 2026-27 regular season. Northern Michigan travels to Sioux Falls looking to begin conference play with a strong performance against the Vikings.

Leonid Bulgakov leads Augustana offensively with six goals through the team's first six regular-season games. Nace Langus has added three goals, while Owen Baumgartner has recorded four points with one goal and three assists. In net, Mathis Langevin has helped anchor the Vikings' strong start, recording five wins and a .932 save percentage through six appearances.

Augustana has demonstrated its ability to win close games early in the season, earning three overtime victories while holding opponents to two goals per game on average. The Vikings will look to carry that defensive consistency and offensive production into their first CCHA series of the season.
