SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana hockey announced Thursday that the Vikings will face Big Ten opponent Ohio State in a home-and-home series during the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons.

Augustana will travel to Columbus during the 2026-27 campaign, then host the Buckeyes at Midco Arena in 2027-28.

Ohio State, a member of the Big Ten Conference, holds a 2025-26 record of 11-18-1, including a 7-13 mark in league play. The Buckeyes have made 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, most recently in 2025, and claimed the 2018-19 Big Ten regular season championship. Over 62 seasons, Ohio State has produced 67 NHL Draft selections.

The series adds another marquee opponent to Augustana's future nonconference schedule after the Vikings announced future series with North Dakota in 2027-28 and 2028-29 and Minnesota Duluth in 2026-27. 

Augustana closed the 2025-26 season with its first 20-win campaign in program history, finishing 20-10-4 overall and 14-8-3 in CCHA play. The Vikings posted a dominant 14-2-3 record on home ice at Midco Arena.
