SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The No. 16 Augustana men's hockey team heads back on the road this weekend for a key CCHA series at No. 20 Michigan Tech, with games set for Friday at 6:07 p.m. (cst) and Saturday at 4:07 p.m. (cst) at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena in Houghton, Michigan.

Series History
Augustana and Michigan Tech have met regularly since the Vikings' inaugural Division I season, with the series producing tight, physical contests. The Vikings hold a 1-2-1 record against the Huskies as both squads remain in the CCHA title picture. 

The Huskies
Michigan Tech enters the weekend with an 18-10-2 overall record and a 13-5-2 mark in CCHA play, establishing itself as one of the league's most consistent teams this season. 

The Huskies average 3.30 goals per game while allowing 2.58, pairing efficient offense with structured defensive play. Michigan Tech's power play has converted at a .195 clip, while its penalty kill has limited opponents to 16 power-play goals. The Huskies are nearly even at the faceoff dot (.499) and rank among the league leaders in blocked shots, averaging more than 12 per game.

Offensively, Stiven Sardarian leads the Huskies with 38 points on 11 goals and 27 assists, while Max Koskipirtti (26 points) and Isaac Gordon (24 points) provide additional scoring depth. Michigan Tech has recorded 18 game-winning goals this season.

In goal, Owen Bartoszkiewicz has shouldered the bulk of the workload, posting an 18-9-2 record, a 2.31 goals-against average, and a .921 save percentage.

The Vikings
Augustana comes into the weekend with an 18-7-3 overall record and a 12-5-3 CCHA mark, continuing to build momentum as the season enters its final stretch.

The Vikings have been especially dominant at home but have shown growth away from Sioux Falls, winning five road games this season. Augustana is averaging 3.04 goals per game while allowing just 2.00, ranking among the league's top defensive teams. The Vikings' special teams have been a strength, converting 22.0 percent of power-play opportunities while holding opponents to a .114 conversion rate.
Offensively, Brett Meerman leads the Vikings with 22 points, while Leonid Bulgakov paces the team with 13 goals. Jacob Jastrzebski and Owen Baumgartner continue to anchor Augustana's depth, with Baumgartner providing steady production from the blue line.

Between the pipes, Josh Kotai has been a cornerstone for Augustana, owning a 16-7-3 record, a 1.99 goals-against average, and a .935 save percentage, along with four shutouts on the season. He was recently named the CCHA Goalie of the Month.
