GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced that the Augustana baseball team has once again received the ABCA/Sports Attack Team Academic Excellence Award. Augustana collected a cumulative GPA of 3.35 in 2025-26. 

The Vikings finished the 2026 season 45-16 overall and reached their fifth Super Regional in program history. The NSIC Regular Season and Tournament Champions were 30-7 in NSIC play and were a program-best 24-2 at home. 

Augustana was one of nearly 500 college programs to be recognized for their outstanding academic achievement. 

To be eligible for the award, the team must be a high school or college team, the head coach must be a current ABCA member and the team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
 
The American Baseball Coaches Association has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA Awards Program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
