SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Augustana head wrestling coach Jason Reitmeier has announced the addition of former Viking national qualifier, Brandon Carroll, as assistant coach. 

Carroll rejoins Augustana following four seasons as the lead assistant on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire coaching staff. The team hit new heights in Carroll's second year on staff in 2023-24, placing fifth at the NCAA Championships and producing the second national champion in program history, along with having a school record four All-Americans. U

Eau Claire clinched a share of its first-ever Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team championship that season and set new single-season school record for dual victories, pins, technical falls and major decisions, along with setting a new dual scoring record.

In his first season with the Blugolds, Carroll helped UW-Eau Claire achieve its highest-ever ranking in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll. He helped the Blugolds produce a national runner-up, two All-Americans and two WIAC champions. 

In his collegiate career, Carroll qualified for nationals in two different weight classes, 125 pounds in 2017 and 133 pounds in 2021. He was a 2021 Scholar All-American, 2017 Regional Freshman of the Year and four-year team captain while earning a spot on the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence. 

The Sioux Falls native compiled a high school record of 134-12 and was a two-time South Dakota state champion at Roosevelt.

Carroll graduated from Augustana University with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and finished his master's in Sports Administration and Leadership in 2022.
