NORWALK, Calif. – Augustana College senior
Kayla Mescher provisionally qualified at the Long Beach Invitational to close-out their California trip while two Vikings finished in the top-five at the Sioux City Relays on Saturday.
Mescher was the lone athlete to provisionally qualify on the final day in California recording a season-best mark in the 400-meter hurdles. The Brighton, Colo. native clocked a time of 1:01.48, while
Irene Almarcha recorded a time of 1:02.93 for a 20th-place finish.
Ryan Heuer finished 22nd in the men's 110-meter hurdles (14.95) and 400-meter hurdles (54.80).
In the 400-meter dash,
Anne Parsley finished with a time of 56.90, while teammate
Charissa Etrheim earned a time of 58.88.
Emma Anderson recorded her third personal-best mark this season, starting with the women's 1,500-meter run. Anderson clocked a time of 4:44.44 followed by clocking a time of 2:17.12 in the 800-meter run.
In the field events,
Kelsey Kaufmann took seventh in the women's high jump clearing 1.70 meters. On the men's side,
CJ Ham took 10th with a heave of 53.15 meters in the hammer throw followed by a throw of 15.81 meters in the shot put.
Two Vikings closed out day two at the Sioux City Relays finishing in the top-five of their respecitive events.
Dylon Van't Hof took second in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.29.
Calliann Brunswig took fifth in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.89.
Augustana will be back in action for the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa and the Kip Janvrin Open in Indianola, Iowa.
