SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augustana softball and the Sioux Empire Fastpitch Softball Association (SEFSA) will team up to hold a Fall Softball League. The league will be held on four Sundays; Aug. 30, Sept. 13, 27 and Oct. 4.
 
The Fall League will be played at Frank Olson Park and will give athletes the opportunity to continue development in softball while receiving instruction from the coaches and players on the Augustana softball team. All teams will be coached by current Viking players and coaches.
 
The fall league is designed for players in grades 3-5 and each team will consist of 12 to 15 players. Each team will play two games on each Sunday.

Augustana finished the 2015 season with a record of 53-11, marking the ninth 50-plus win season in program history (third under ninth-year head coach Gretta Melsted). The Vikings finished 28-2 in NSIC play and won their third regular season NSIC Championship, securing the 12th conference title in program history. Augustana made its sixth straight and 23rd overall NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015.
