SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana men's tennis team hits the road again this weekend traveling to Northfield, Minn. to go up against Carleton College on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at the Bell Field Tennis Courts.
The Vikings bring a record of 5-6 into the match against Carleton after defeating Saint John's (Minn.) last weekend, 5-4. The win against Saint John's (Minn.) snapped a six match losing streak for Augustana.
In singles play, Augustana is led by freshman
Charlie Adkins. Adkins is 6-4 in singles this season mainly playing at the No. 2 position.
In doubles, the top pair for the Vikings is
Logan Barr and
Joe Sawatzke. The duo is 6-4 at the No. 2 doubles slot.
Carleton enters the weekend with a record of 7-2. The Knights will take on Concordia College on Saturday before going up against Augustana on Sunday.
The Knights are led by Patton McClelland who is 10-1 in singles play at the Nos, 1, 2, 3 and 4 positions. In doubles, the top pair for the Knights is Ezra Frankel and Aaron Goodman who are 5-4 at No. 1 doubles.
The Vikings wrap up their season at home next week. Augustana takes on Hastings on Saturday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. at the GreatLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club and will conclude the season with Morningside on Tuesday, April 12 at 4 p.m. at the Huether Tennis Centre.
