SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana University volleyball team has received a letter of intent from Izzy Sommers in the late signing period, as announced by head coach Jennifer Jacobs on Thursday. Sommers will join Abby Benson, who signed back in November, for the start of the 2017 season.

High School Notes: Izzy was a four-year starter and four-year letterwinner at Totino-Grace High School … as a senior Sommers had 448 kills, 215 digs, 51 blocks and 28 aces … she earned all-conference, all-area and all-state and all-state academic honors during her senior season … as a junior she totalled 253 kills, 40 blocks, 31 digs and 16 aces while earning all-conference honors and helping lead her team to a 4AAA Runner-Up finish at sectionals … as a sophomore she earned 121 kills, 51 blocks 33 digs and 9 aces … as a freshman she totaled 56 kills, 38 blocks and 18 digs while helping lead her team to a conference championship

Personal: Born February 28, 1999 to Charlie and Karla Sommers; Sommers plans on majoring in Math with a minor in Computer Science.
