OWATANNA, Minn. – The Augustana men's tennis team drops its last road match of the season to Carleton College in Owatanna, Minn. on Sunday afternoon, 6-3. The Vikings drop to 5-7 on the season.
In doubles, the Knights took two out of the three matches to jump out to an early 2-1 lead over the Vikings. At No.1 doubles the brother's duo of Zach and
Charlie Adkins earned the lone doubles win for the Vikings, defeating Ezra Frankel and Aaron Goodman 8-2.
In singles, Carleton took four of the six singles matches to secure the 6-3 win over the Vikings. At No. 2 singles,
Charlie Adkins used a comeback to defeat Frankel. Adkins was down 6-3 in the tiebreaker and came back to win 10-8 to secure the win. Adkins won the match 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) and improved to 7-4 on the season.
At No. 3 singles,
Logan Barr defeated Patton McClelland in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Barr moved to 5-5 on the year.
The Vikings wrap up their season at home next week. Augustana takes on Hastings on Saturday, April 8 at 2:30 p.m. at the GreatLIFE Woodlake Athletic Club and will conclude the season with Morningside on Tuesday, April 12 at 4 p.m. at the Huether Tennis Centre.
