SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – High energy throughout from the 17th-ranked Augustana Volleyball team paved the way to a 3-0 sweep over the University of Minnesota Crookston (25-18, 25-23, 25-12) in front of a packed Elmen Center crowd Saturday night.
The sweep was the Vikings seventh of the season, improving their record to 12-5 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
"I'm really proud of our girls tonight," head coach
Jennifer Jacobs said. "Our team came out early with a lot of energy and we were able to jump on Crookston early."

Courtney Place tied a career high with 21 kills with a .308 hitting percentage while adding seven digs on the evening. Libero
Tahlyr Banks recorded a match-high 23 digs while junior
Kaylea Ahrens muscled out 15 digs.

Payton Rosendahl lifted the Vikings to a 25-23 set two victory to give Augustana a 2-0 lead in the match.
Jumping out the an 12-4 advantage in the third set, and leading by as much as 21-9, Augustana used a combined 11 kills from Place and senior middle blocker
Ashley Wilson to clinch the sweep.
With the loss, Crookston falls to (4-11, 1-5) on the season.
The Vikings take their three-match win streak with them on the road as the return to action Friday, Oct. 6 at Minot State. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.
