Augustana Women’s Basketball Looks to Stay Unbeaten at Home

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The meat of the conference schedule is in full swing for the 8th-ranked Augustana women's basketball team as the Vikings host two more NSIC foes this weekend, which wraps up their current four game homestand. Augustana is ranked in the top-10 for the first time since the 2007 season.

The Vikings (17-1, 13-1 NSIC) are 9-0 at home this season, and look to add to their win total when they play Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Jan. 26 inside the Elmen Center at 6 p.m. and St. Cloud State on Saturday, Jan. 27 at 4 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.

Minnesota Duluth holds an 11-6 record with an 8-5 record in conference play. St. Cloud State is 12-5 overall and 9-4 in the NSIC. The Bulldogs dropped contests to MSU Moorhead, 81-45, and to Northern State, 84-83, last weekend and are on a two game losing streak. The Huskies knocked off No. 22 Northern State, 61-57, last weekend but lost to MSU Moorhead, 78-54.

Sammy Kozlowski leads Minnesota Duluth with 11.8 points per game. Additionally, she averages 4.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists a contest. Katie Stark and Sarah Grow average 10 points per game. Stark averages 5.2 rebounds and Grow hauls in 6.1 rebounds a game. The Bulldogs shoot 39.3 percent from the field.

The Huskies' Andrea Thomas is their leading scorer with 12.6 points per game. Tori Wortz is the other player who averages 10-plus points with 11 points per game. As a team St. Cloud State shoots 41 percent from the field.

Augustana has four players averaging 10 or more points a game this season, led by Logan O'Farrell who averages 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds a game. As a team, the Vikings are shooting 45 percent from the field and 34 percent from long range.

Augie holds a 18-9 record vs. Minnesota Duluth and a 25-28 advantage over St. Cloud State. In its last meeting with the Bulldogs, the Vikings won 77-63 back on Jan. 27, 2017. Augustana lost to the Huskies, 74-70, the last time the two squads met back on Jan. 28, 2017.
