SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Augustana track and field team makes a return trip Mankato, Minn. for the MSU Open on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27 at the Myers Field House.
Augustana will only have pole vaulters competing on Friday and they are set to begin at 3 p.m. with the women starting and the men to follow. On Saturday, field events will start at 10 a.m. and running events will commence at 12 p.m.
Last Meet
Last Friday, the Vikings were in Brookings, S.D. for the DII Invitational.
Josh Barrows highlighted the day with a first place finish in the 1000-meters, breaking the meet record in the process with a time of 2:28.20.
Emily Tromp was the other Viking to take first, finishing in the top place in the 600-meters with a personal best time of 1:36.7.
The Vikings had a pair of second place finishers in the 60-meter hurdles.
Valerie Gildemaster had a strong showing and hit a provisionally qualifying time with 8.77.
Paul Meloche kept his strong season going with a time of 8.29 and has finished in the top-three in each 60-meter hurdle race this year.
In field events,
Anthony Huber recorded a provisionally qualifying mark for the third consecutive meet in the weight throw. Huber took fourth with a mark of 17.66-meters.
Callie DeWitt and
Kendra Ludeman continued to impress during their freshman campaigns with each taking second in their respective events. DeWitt recorded a jump of 5.19-meters in the long jump to finish in second and Ludeman went 1.60-meters in the high jump to also take second.

Next Time Out
Augustana will make its third trip to Mankato, Minn. in four weeks to compete in the Ted Nelson Classic on Feb. 3.
