Augustana Women’s Basketball Returns from Holiday Break

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Off to their best start in program history, the No. 14 Augustana women's basketball team looks to carry their momentum from 2017 in to 2018 when the Vikings return to the Sioux Falls Arena to host Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul this weekend.
 
Augustana (12-0, 8-0 NSIC) takes on Minnesota State (4-9, 2-5 NSIC) on Friday, Jan. 5 at 6 p.m., and Concordia St. Paul (4-9, 1-6 NSIC) on Saturday, Jan. 6 at 4 p.m. Friday's contest will be broadcast live on MidcoSN and both games can be heard live on KXRB 100.1 with Jeff Fylling on the call.
 
The Vikings took care of business over the weekend, handling Southwest Minnesota State, 91-77 and held off rival Sioux Falls, 76-65, on New Year's Eve.
 
Averaging just over 83 points a game, Augie enters this weekend's contents leading the NSIC in scoring offense and is seventh nationally. Logan O'Farrell, a senior guard from Summit, S.D., leads the team in scoring, pouring in 14.2 points-per-game. O'Farrell is also tied with Shelby Selland as the teams' leading rebounder as both are averaging 6.2 rebounds a game. With 54 steals on the season, O'Farrell is also the nations leader in steals and steals-per-game with 4.5.
 
The Vikings opened up NSIC play with both Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul.
 
Vikings Women's Basketball Quick Hits

• The Vikings have four players who are averaging 10 or more points on the season in Logan O'Farrell (14.2ppg), Presley O'Farrell (12.8ppg), Shelby Selland (12.3ppg) and Paige Peterson (11.8ppg)
