Augustana Women’s Basketball Seeks Seven Straight This Weekend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Winners of 11 of their last 13 true road games dating back to last season, the No. 7 Augustana women's basketball team heads back on the road for two games scheduled with Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. The Vikings, who are 19-1 overall and 15-1 in the NSIC, take on the Golden Eagles Friday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. followed by a battle with the Beavers on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m.

Minnesota Crookston holds an 8-14 record overall with a 6-10 record in conference play. The Golden Eagles are coming off a weekend in which they split their two games, picking up a win last Saturday at Concordia-St. Paul, 75-60. Isieoma Odor and Micaela Noga are Minnesota Crookston's leading scorers, both of which are averaging 10-plus points-per-game this season. Order, a junior from Bloomington, Minn. leads the Golden Eagles in scoring, averaging 13.8 points and 7.5 rebounds a contest.  Minnesota Crookston shoots 40 percent from the field and 30 percent from long range. They pour in 6.2 three-pointers a game and shoot 80.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Bemidji State enters the weekend with a 4-16 record and a 3-13 mark in the NSIC. The Beavers have lost 10 in a row, most recently dropping decisions at Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State. Brooklyn Bechmann, a freshman guard from Minooka, Ill., leads Bemidji State with 13.3 points-per-game. The Beavers are coached by Chelsea DeVille, a 2009 graduate of Augustana who played for Dave Krauth.
