SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana University head women's basketball coach
Dave Krauth is excited to announce the 2018-19 women's basketball schedule, which features 15 home games, six at the Elmen Center and nine at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Augustana's non-conference schedule is highlighted by an opening weekend trip to Kansas City, Mo. to participate in the Central Regional Challenge Nov. 9-10. While in Kansas City, Augustana will face off against Washburn (KS) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 and at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 against Southern Nazarene (OK).
Following the Viking's trip to Missouri, they will return home for two games against Mount Marty (Nov. 12) and Dakota State (Nov. 15). The Vikings then head international, flying down to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the three-day Puerto Rico Classic. Augustana then returns home to host Waldorf at the Elmen Center on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Following the holiday break, the Vikings welcome the Wildcats of Wayne State on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 3:30 p.m. for their first Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game of the season.
Augustana will finish out the 2018 calendar with five NSIC matchups; with three on the road against Winona State, Upper Iowa, and Wayne State and two at home against Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. The Vikings end non-conference play with a Dec. 19 match-up with Peru State (NE) at 5:30 at the Elmen Center.
Ringing in the new year, the Vikings will be on the road and travel to Marshall, Minn. for a contest vs. Southwest Minnesota State, and then they'll take on crosstown rival, University of Sioux Falls, down the road at the Stewart Center on Jan. 5.
The month of January will be split between home and away contests. The homestand starts against Upper Iowa and Winona State Jan. 11-12, before the Vikings head to Northern State and MSU Moorhead Jan. 18-19. Capping off the month of January, Augustana returns to Sioux Falls arena for a pair of games against Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State Jan. 26-27.
Augustana starts February on the road Feb. 1-2 in North Dakota (Minot and U-Mary) and then returns home for matchups with Minnesota-Duluth and St. Cloud State. All conference games will be played at the Sioux Falls area, except for the final home-stand of the year. Augustana will welcome in Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State to the Elmen Center Feb. 22 and 23rd. Postseason play begins Feb. 27 with the NSIC tournament. The opening round is played the home court of the higher seeds.
