Augustana enters the contest winning their last eight games, and is sitting in first place in the NSIC South. The last time the Vikings hit the floor they defeated Peru State, 94-60. In the win over the Bobcats, the Vikings tabbed 11 student-athletes in the scoring column. Overall, the 94 points marks the 9th time in 10 games the Vikings have racked up 80 or more points. Through 14 games, the Vikings are first nationally with 652 rebounds as a team. Augustana also sits top three in the nation in steals at 165 (11.8/ game) and sixth in scoring margin, defeating teams by just under 25 points-per-game.
Earlier this season, the Vikings and Wildcats met in what ended up being a game that went down to the wire with Augustana escaping with an 81-73 victory. In their NSIC opener vs. the Wildcats, the Vikings got five players in double-figures, and leading the way for the Vikings was
Lynsey Prosser who racked up 15 points, four steals, and four assists.
Heading into Sunday, Senior center
Shelby Selland is the back-to-back reigning NSIC South Player of the Week. Selland is one of four Vikings averaging ten or more points a contest. The Lester, S.D. native is averaging just under 16 points per game and seven rebounds per contest.
The Wildcats are led by Erin Norling as the sophomore is averaging 15.8 points per game. Fellow sophomore Brittany Bongartz drops 13 points per game. Norling also leads the team with 6.3 rebounds.
Sunday's tip-off vs. Wayne State also marks the beginning of a three-game road trip for the Vikings. Following this weekend, Augustana will visit Southwest Minnesota State on Friday, Jan. 4th, and Sioux Falls on Saturday, Jan. 5th.

offense. She leads the team with 49 assists.
• Busse's eight assists against Augustana on Dec. 1st are the most assists by a Wildcat since her own eight assists
last season at Concordia-St. Paul.
• The Wildcat offense is receiving a boost from a variety of different players. Five different players average at least
eight points a game, including three that are in double-digits. Led by Erin Norling's 15.8 points, Brittany Bongartz
(13.0) and Halley Busse (12.5) also have gotten on the mark early and often in the opening 11 games of the season.
