Women’s Basketball Begins Postseason Run Wednesday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 21, the 10th-ranked and top-seeded Augustana women's basketball team begins postseason play when they host the No. 8 team in the NSIC South, Bemidji State, at 6 p.m. inside the Elmen Center.

The Vikings, who shared the regular season conference championship with Northern State and MSU Moorhead, posted a 23-3 overall record and 19-3 mark in league play. Bemidji State enters the contest with a 4-22 overall record and a 3-19 conference record. The Beavers are currently on a 16 game losing streak.

Augie suffered a heartbreaking loss at Winona State over the weekend, but rebounded with a 71-45 victory at Upper Iowa, while Bemidji State suffered a 76-61 loss at MSU Moorhead and a 89-48 loss at Northern State.

Seniors Logan O'Farrell and Presley O'Farrell, along with junior center Shelby Selland post double-digit scoring numbers for the Vikings. Logan O'Farrell leads the team with 13.5 points per game, while Presley O'Farrell is second with 11.8 ppg followed by Selland who averages 11.3 ppg.

Brooklyn Bachman, who averages 13.0 ppg and 5.2 rbg leads Bemidji State in both categories

Series History
Augustana leads Bemidji State 16-2 in the all-time series. The Vikings are 8-0 at home and defeated the Beavers 87-50 back on Feb. 3, 2018 in Bemidji.

If The Vikings Win …
If Augustana defeats Bemidji State, the Vikings will play the winner of the Minnesota State Moorhead / Minnesota Duluth contest on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Sanford Pentagon.
