Krauth Goes For 600th Win in Final Home Weekend

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana women's basketball head coach Dave Krauth can win his 600th game Saturday, Feb. 10 when the Vikings host Southwest Minnesota State at 4 p.m. inside the Sioux Falls Arena. Coach Krauth currently has 598 wins as a head coach and seeks his 599th with on Feb. 9 when his team hosts rival Sioux Falls at 6 p.m. in the Arena.

Friday night's contest between the 5th ranked Vikings (21-1, 17-1) and the Cougars is Alumni Night while Saturday's matchup with the Mustangs is senior night. Student-athletes Paige Peterson, Logan O'Farrell, Allie Koehn, Presley O'Farrell, Naomi Rust and student assistant Erin Benson will all be participating in their last game at the Sioux Falls Arena and will be honored before tip.

Sioux Falls enters Friday night's game 13-9 overall and a 10-8 in the NSIC. The Cougars have lost four in a row, most recently to Minot State, 73-64, last Saturday in the Stewart Center. USF is led by sophomore guard Kaely Hummel. The Cherokee, Iowa, native pours in 16.5 points-per-game, which leads the team. Mariah Szymanski, a sophomore from Pulaski, Wis. led Sioux Falls with 31 points the last time Augie and USF faced off and averages 12 points-per-game on the season.

SMSU is 5-16 overall and 4-14 in league play. The Mustangs enter the weekend on a one game win streak, defeating U-Mary 73-58 at the R/A Facility in Marshall. Caleigh Rodning leads Southwest Minnesota State with 13 points and 7.5 rebounds a game. The last time Augie and SMSU squared off, Erin Baxter led the way with 16 points for the Mustangs.
