Shelby Selland Notches NSIC South Player of the Week for the Third Week in a Row

This is Sellands fourth time being honored in her career

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- For the third straight week, Augustana women's basketball center Shelby Selland has been named NSIC South Player of the Week. Selland has now won three of the seven weekly conference awards. The honor is Selland's fourth-career career Player of the Week award.

Over the course of two games in two weeks, Selland finished with  an average of 21.5 points per game, 10.5 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

Before the holiday break, Selland and the Vikings took down Peru State, 94-60. In the victory, Selland dropped 23 points while snagging 10 boards.

Following the break, the Vikings traveled to Wayne State and extended their win streak to nine straight games with a  88-74 win. On Sunday against the Wildcats, she racked up 20 points and grabbed 11 boards.

This season, Selland has notched six double-doubles and has dropped 20 or more points five times. Overall, the senior leads the team with 16 points per game, 7 boards per game, while shooting 56% from the field.

The No. 13 Augustana women's basketball team now opens 2019 on the road with two Northern Sun Conference games. On Friday, the Vikings take on the Mustangs from Southwest Minnesota State University at 5:30 p.m. and are back in action on Saturday at the University of Sioux Falls for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
