SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Hitting the road for the final NSIC North Division road trip, the Augustana women's basketball team travels to North Dakota to take on Minot State and U-Mary this weekend. The Vikings (18-5, 10-4 NSIC) tipoff against the Beavers Friday at 5:30 p.m. and return to the hardwood Saturday at 3:30 vs. the Marauders.
Augustana is coming off a split at home this past weekend. On Friday, the Vikings fell to Concordia-St. Paul, 75-55. Saturday, Augustana fared much better versus. Minnesota State, taking the win in the final minutes.
Coming into this weekend's matchups, the Vikings currently sit tied for first in the South Division with Concordia-St. Paul, each with 10-4 records in conference play.
Closing in on the final weeks of conference play, the Vikings are led by senior guard
Lynsey Prosser who is dropping 12.3 points per game.
Vishe' Rabb is right behind Prosser with 11.9 points/game, while
Abby Hora is notching 11.3 points per contest. On the boards, freshman
Camryn Hay is grabbing just under six a game to lead all active Vikings. The Vikings continue to lead the nation in rebounds with 996 total on the season.
Through 14 games of conference play, Augustana leads the NSIC in scoring (78.1 ppg). The Vikings also grab the most defensive boards at just under 30 per game, dish out 16.42 assists per game, and force 10.54 steals per game, which all lead the NSIC.
Leading the team in scoring, Prosser is also second in the NSIC in assists with four per game, while Hora is second in assist to turnover ratio. On the defensive side of the ball, the Vikings tremendous defensive efforts game in and game out is being noticed, led by
Hana Metoxen with 2.2 steals per game which lands her in second place in the conference.
