Augustana Swimming Falls to Minnesota State 166-112

MANKATO, Minn. -- The Augustana swimming team fell to Minnesota State 166-112 on Thursday night in Mankato, Minnesota. 

The 200-yard medley relay team started things off for the Vikings as the 'A' team finished third with a time of 1:53.05 while the 'B' team finished fifth with a time of 1:55.51. Emma Miller earned top honors in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:15.38 while Destini Oehlertz also placed first with a time of 1:58.69 in the 200-yard freestyle. Four other Vikings placed in the top-10 of the 200-yard freestyle. 

Merriam Hagadorn placed third in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 28.78 and Micah Hudlet placed third in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 32.12. Emma Miller took home silver with a time of 25.80 in the 50-yard freestyle while three other Vikings placed in the top-10. 

Five swimmers placed in the top-10 of the 100-yard freestyle including Oehlertz who took home top honors with a time of 53.50. In the 100-yard backstroke four Vikings placed in the top-five while three Vikings placed in the top-four of the 100-yard breaststroke.

Taylor Beagle earned first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.94 and Hannah Lambert placed third with a time of 5:26.90. Ruth Huffman placed second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.54 while Micah Hudlet finished right behind her with a time of 2:20.21. Four Vikings placed in the top-five of the 50-yard Butterfly.

Finishing things off for Augustana were the 200-yard freestyle relay teams. The 'A' team finished with a time of 1:40.70 for second place and the 'B' team finished with a time of 1:44.25 for third place.

The Vikings will host the Augustana Invite on Nov. 21-23 at the Midco Aquatic Center.
