Augustana Swimming To Compete At the Morningside Invite

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — After a week off of competing, the Augustana swimming team is back in the pool when it travels to Sioux City, Iowa, to compete in the Morningside Invite on Saturday at 11 a.m. 

The Meet
The Vikings travel to Iowa and Mankato, Minnesota, before hosting back-to-back home meets in the Augustana Invitational on Nov. 21-23 and hosting SMSU on Jan. 11. 

The Opponents
Morningside, Augustana, Barton CC, Iowa Central CC, Iowa Lakes CC, Nebraska- Kearney (Women Only), Midland, Southwest Minnesota State (Women Only), College of Saint Mary (Women Only) and University of Saint Mary are all slated to compete in the Invitational on Saturday. 

The Vikings
Augustana is coming off competing at the USF Quad Dual where it defeated MSU Moorhead and lost to USF and Minnesota State. Eight Vikings placed in the top-three in the two-day event while the 400-yard medley 'A' team placed third with a time of 4:00.00 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team placed fourth with a time of 3:38.05.

Swimmer to Watch
NSIC Player to Watch Taylor Beagle took home top honors in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:30.51. The junior also placed second in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:39.90. Last season, Beagle was the first Viking in program history to earn All-American honors.
