BURNSVILLE, MINN. -- Augustana's
Olivia Montez Brown was named the NSIC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year in a release issued by the NSIC on Wednesday. The senior earned the award following an outstanding performance at the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Montez Brown placed first in the Pentathlon at the NSIC Indoor Championships with a point total of 3,712, her highest total of the season. The Chester, England native also took first place in the Long Jump (5.73m) and fourth in the 60m Hurdles (8.72 seconds).
The senior put up the high point total at the NSIC Indoor Championships, scoring 25 team points for the Viking women.
Montez Brown (Pentathlon) and
Paul Meloche (60m Hurdles) will be competing at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in Pittsburg, Kan. on March 8-9.
