SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — After an opening-round NSIC tournament win over Northern State the Augustana women's basketball team now advances to take on Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon. The game will be broadcasted on Midco Sports Network.
Augustana is the defending NSIC tournament champions and looks to make it back-to-back tournament titles.
The Vikings come into this quarterfinal matchup with a 22-10 (13-9 NSIC) record, and the Bulldogs come into the game sitting with a 20-6 (18-4 NSIC) record. At the beginning of February when the pair of opponents hit the hardwood in Sioux Falls and the Bulldogs walked away victorious 79-57.
Leading the way for the Augustana women's basketball team was
Lynsey Prosser with 22 points in the loss. Prosser also led on the boards with five, while
Hana Metoxen led with five steals.
Overall, the Vikings shot 15-of-62 (24.2 percent) from the field, while the Bulldogs shot 27-of-58 (46.6 percent ). The 24 percent marked a season-low for Augustana.
Overall, leading the way for the Vikings coming into the Pentagon is Prosser. The All-NSIC Second Team honoree is dropping a team-high 14.2 points per game and is coming off a career-high 27 in the win over the Wolves. Following Prosser, is All-NSIC First Team honoree,
Shelby Selland. Selland is dropping 13.8 per game. NSIC Freshman of the Year
Vishe' Rabb is tallying nearly 11 points coming into the postseason,
Abby Hora also is scoring double-digits sitting at 10.3 per contest.
On the glass, Selland is leading with just under six boards a game. The senior has over 656 boards in her career.
