SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Augustana track and field teams competed in the Sioux City Relays and UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday and put up a number of phenomenal performances in their second outdoor weekend as a full squad. The Viking men grabbed six top-three finishes on the weekend, while the women took 15 top-threes.
For the Viking women, the day was highlighted by the 5000m, where they became the first group in school and NSIC history to have seven women break the 18 minute mark in the event.

Leah Seivert,
Nicolette Schmidt,
Claire Boersma,
Rebekah Rairdon,
Courtney Hottovy, and
Cait Savey each posted times under 18 minutes.Â
Kelly's time of 16:50.66 was an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in a first-place finish.
Callie DeWitt took first in the 100m final at 12.35 seconds, while
Selin Dikmen won the 400m final at 59.64 seconds.
Carly Rahn and
Kali Ryan took one and two in the 800m at 2:15.71 and 2:16.66, respectively.Â
Dikmen also grabbed a first-place finish in the 100m hurdles at 14.83 seconds.
In the field events,
Olivia Montez Brown won the long jump at a distance of 5.69m (18' 8") and
Mearah Miedema placed second in the high jump at 1.62m (5' 3.75").
Kaly Banks finished up at second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.89m (35' 8.75").
On the men's side, two Augustana student-athletes put up provisional qualifying marks in their events, with
Josh Barrows posting an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 400m hurdles at 53.16 seconds in a first place finish and
Jesus Urtusuastegui finishing fourth in the 5000m with a time of 14:32.12.Â

Paul Meloche took first place in the 110m hurdles at a time of 14.73 seconds. In the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay, the Augustana teams each took second place. The 4x100m relay team of
Riley Crawford, Meloche, Barrows, and
Ryan Stiles finished as the runner-up at 43.16 seconds. In the 4x400m relay, the team of
Blake Savey,
Ryan Sully, Barrows, and
Alex Woods ran a time of 3:22.97.
The Vikings next meet is scheduled for April 17-18 at the Northwestern Red Raider Invite in Orange City, Iowa.
