The Augustana women's relay teams have had an impressive weekend, to put things lightly. The Drake Relays, one of the nation's most prestigious meets represents a big challenge for the Augustana track and field teams. The event draws tens of thousands of spectators every season and schools from all across the country.
With all of that said, the Viking women have swept the distance relays for the second straight season, winning the 4x800m Relay and Distance Medley Relay at the Division II level.

Tracy Hellman. "We have always placed a high priority on performing well at this meet representing Augustana."
The 4x800m Relay team of
Kali Ryan (2:16),
Avery Selberg (2:14),
Emily Tromp (2:18), and
Carly Rahn (2:15) finished the race in first at 9:04.83. The time was 15 seconds faster than the second place Wartburg College.
The Distance Medley Relay team of
Kaitlyn Mulder (400m, 58.65),
Kali Ryan (800m, 2:16.90),
Avery Selberg (1200m, 3:40.67), and
Mackenzie Kelly (1600m, 5:06.34) took first place with a time of 12:02.55. The University of St. Francis (Ill.) finished the race in second to the Viking women by nearly 8 seconds.
"Winning a Drake Relays title is always difficult and our women raced very well in inclement weather," Hellman explained. "It was our 15th Drake Relays title since 2009, and the coaching staff was extremely pleased on how all of our relays competed this weekend. Our women's 4x100m relay also had a great weekend, as they qualified for finals with their Friday performance."
The Viking men and women continue competition through Monday, as the NSIC Multi Championships begin on Sunday in Aberdeen, S.D.
