ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The National College Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced their Division II Central Region Teams on Thursday and six Augustana players found their way onto the list after a 43-14 season. Max Steffens was named the Central Region Pitcher of the Year for the second time this season, having won the honor from the D2CCA earlier this season. Head coach Tim Huber earned Central Region Coach of the Year with the team's success this season. 

Jordan Barth (Utility) and Steffens (Starting Pitcher) were both named to the Central Region First Team. JT Mix earned a spot on the NCBWA Central Region Second Team in the second base spot. Honorable mention accolades were earned by Will Olson (Catcher) and Riley Johnson (Outfield). 

Barth is hitting .445 on the year with nine home runs and 45 RBI. The sophomore missed nearly a full month of the season, but still put up the most homers on the year and a staggering .726 slugging percentage for the Vikings. Steffens holds a 2.44 ERA with a 9-0 record and seven complete games. The junior transfer has only walked 10 batters on the year while holding opponents to a .223 batting average. Mix is hitting .384 on the season with an on-base percentage of .480. The sophomore has also swiped 13 bases on the year. 

Olson batted .355 with eight home runs and 49 RBI on the year, while Johnson batted .396 with 25 extra-base hits and 26 stolen bases in a stacked outfielder class.
