DALLAS - The Augustana baseball team finished No. 11 in the final National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 after a 43-16 record this past season.
The Vikings claimed the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) regular season title for the first time in school history and also went undefeated throughout the NSIC tournament to win their second consecutive NSIC Tournament title.
Augustana claimed the No. 1 seed in the Central Region and would go on to win the NCAA Central Region I title before falling to Central Missouri in the Central Super Regional to end their chances of repeating as national champions.
The NCBA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region showed JT Mix,
Jordan Barth, and
Max Steffens all earning First Team honors, while
Riley Johnson was named to the second team this past season.
Max Steffens earned Central Region Pitcher of the Year twice (NCBA/Rawlings & D2CAA). Head coach
Tim Huber earned Central Region Coach of the Year with the team's success this season.
Steffens also earned NSIC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year while Huber earned NSIC Coach of the Year.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
