AUSTIN, Texas – The national recognition continues to roll in for former Augustana track and field student-athlete Josh Barrows. Recently awarded the 2019 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, Josh Barrows is now a three-time Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-American.

A native of Helena, Mont., Barrows graduated in May 2019 with a major in English and religion, and a minor in math and philosophy. Throughout the 2019 spring semester Barrows maintained a 3.96 GPA, which earned him a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division II second team. 

Barrows is one of just three student-athletes in the nation to earn three consecutive academic All-America honors. Barrows 3.96 GPA checks in as the second-best on the second team. 

On the track, Barrows recently competed at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. After entering the meet with the 24th ranked time in the 400m hurdles, Barrows ran past his competition in the prelims and placed seventh in the nation in the final. Barrows is a three-time all-conference honoree and two-time all-region selection. 

The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.

About the CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams (Women). 

The 16 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II women's track/cross country first team members hold a composite 3.90 GPA. Twenty-one members of the 45-player first, second and third teams honorees hold a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Ten CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II women's track/cross country selections are repeat picks from the 2017-18 honor listing, including three student-athletes making the 2016-17 first team. 

About the CoSIDA Academic All-America® teams (Men). 

The 17 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II men's track/cross country first team members hold a composite 3.89 GPA. Thirteen members of the 45-player first, second and third teams honorees hold a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Fifteen CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II men's track/cross country selections are repeat picks from the 2017-18 honor listing, including three student-athletes making the 2016-17 first team.
