SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Augustana women's golf will host the Augustana Invitational this weekend in Sioux Falls. The Invitational will tee off Saturday with tee times starting at 9 a.m. from Elmwood Golf Course. Sunday has a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
The Invitational
10 women's teams will be competing at the par-72, 6,120-yard course. The 10 teams will play two rounds, 18 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday.
The Opponents
Southwest Minnesota State, Minot State, MSU Moorhead, Missouri Southern, Minnesota Crookston, Sioux Falls, Manitoba, Black Hills State, Northwest Missouri State and South Dakota School of Mines are all slated to compete this weekend in Sioux Falls.
The Vikings
Augustana took home its third-straight team title after shooting a two-round score of 608. Individually, the Vikings finished with four in the top-10 and five in the top-15. Hannah Hankinson finished in second-place behind Stone to finish with a score of 72 and 78 for a total of 150. Freshman
Molly Stevens finished five strokes behind Hankinson to tie for seventh place with a score of +11 (155).
Rounding out the team scoring for the Vikings were Natalie Young and
Kait Asklund. Young placed 21st after shooting a two-round score of 161 while Asklund finished with a score of 165 (+21).
Player to Watch
Alex Stone has had an impressive start to the fall season after earning top honors in back-to-back invites. Stone tied the Mustang Invite record with a 2-under 70 to take home her second straight first-place honor. Stone also tied the tournament record with an even-par 144 for two rounds. The junior was in second place after the first day but shot a two-under 70, to take over teammate Hannah Hankinson for the tournament's top-honor.
One Last Thing
The Vikings have won three-straight tournament titles this fall season and have taken home the individual title all three times as well.
