MANKATO, Minn. -- The Augustana track and field teams came away with second place finishes in the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Myers Field House in Mankato, Minnesota. The women's scored 143.66 points, twenty points behind the winner UMary. The men scored 121.50 points coming second to Minnesota State.Â

Sophomore Tyl Woelber was named the NSIC High Point Performer coming away with 34 points after winning the heptathlon, getting second in the triple and long jumps, tying for fourth in the high jump and placing sixth in the 60m hurdles.
The Women
Getting early points for the Vikings were the multi athletes. Freshman Elizabeth Schaefer had herself a day claiming the top spot with 3,692 points, which was also a provisional mark and just under a 200-point personal best. Senior Olivia Montez Brown was runner-up just 10 points behind Schaefer. Kaye Paschka had herself a day earning a personal best with 3,314 points and fourth place to ensure everyone in the event scored points for the Vikings.Â

Freshman Patty Jo English and teammate Callin Naddy scored points in the mile placing fifth and sixth with times of 5:04.19 and 5:06.01, respectively.

Multi teammates Montez Brown and Schaefer also came away with points in the 60-meter hurdles with Montez Brown running away with the win in a provisional time of 8.74. Schaefer ran 9.06 placing seventh in the event.

In the 600-meter run, the Vikings came away with three-point scorers. Sydney Mudgett who yesterday ran a personal best, earned the runner-up finish in a time of 1:35.93. Also scoring in the event was Kailtyn Mulder and Kali Ryan placing 6th and 8th in times of 1:38.21 and 1:38.74, respectively.Â

Augustana had three runners advance to the finals in the 1000-meter run and made the most of it. Senior Emily Tromp ran a huge personal-best notching second place in a time of 2:54.46. English, on tired legs after competing in the mile earlier in the day, came away with a fourth-place finish in a personal best time of 2:58.27. Rounding out the 1000 was junior Meagan Schenk placing sixth in a time of 3:01.22.

The 3000 meter brought in huge points for Augustana having four Vikings score points. Sophomore Nicolette Schmidt ran to a runner-up finish in a time of 10:02.69. Rachel Rairdon took fourth place and her sister Rebekah Rairdon followed closely finishing in sixth. Junior Claire Boersma rounded out the Vikings scoring placing seventh, giving Augustana 18 total points in the event.

Rounding out the championships for the women was the 4x400 relay where Augustana placed fifth with the team of Mulder, Mudgett, Tromp, and Ryan.Â

The Men
Woelber picked up right where he left off on Friday, ending the heptathlon with a huge personal best scoring 5,327 points taking first place and achieving an automatic qualifying mark in the process.Â

Sophomore Evan Johnson was able to come away with points for the Vikings placing fourth in the mile with a time of 4:19.02.

Woelber scored points in the 60-meter hurdles placing sixth in a time of 8.61. He also placed second in the triple jump with a jump of 47-7.25. Freshman Connor Clayton also scored points for Augustana placing eighth with a jump of 45-6.25.Â

Augustana had two scorers in the 400-meter dash with junior Ryan Sully place fifth in 50.30 and senior Alex Woods place eighth in 55.91.

Sophomore Noah Melton placed fifth in the 600m in a time of 122.61.

Woelber came away with a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a jump of 6-9, also scoring for the Vikings was freshman Isaiah Morin-Baxter.
The Vikings had a one-two finish in the 800m with junior Austin Miller winning in a time of 1:51.78 and freshman Bonheur Mvuyekure running a personal best 1:54.39, to grab 18 big points for Augustana.

Johnson returned in the 1000, coming away with a third-place finish with a time of 2:29.81.

Senior Aaron Runge ran a seasonal best in the 3000 meter earning a runner up finish in a time of 8:33.11. Also scoring points was junior Alec Kray placing fifth in a time of 8:38.37.

Rounding out the events for the meet was the 4x400 meter relay. The team of Jed Dooyema, Blake Savey, Mvuyekure and Sully placed fourth in a time of 3:23.98.
