SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Augustana swimming team completed action on its opening weekend on Saturday with a pair of quad duals inside the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls. The Vikings competed against fellow NSIC schools UMary, Northern State and Sioux Falls.

The full day of action was split into two complete sessions and recorded as duals against each team in attendance in each session. Senior
Taylor Beagle came away with a pair of individual victories while the Vikings were successful in several events. Â

"What a great weekend," head coach
Lindsie Micko said. "It was fun to watch the team compete again. They raced a lot and had a lot of best in-season times, so this puts us in a good spot for our conference championships."

Beagle claimed victory in the 400 IM and 500-free during the day's first session. In the 400, she clocked in with a time of 4:38.89 while hitting the wall at 5:10.76 in the 500. She also added a second-place finish in the 1000-free in the second session timing in at 10:35.06.

A pair of relay squads garnered second-place honors, first the 200-free in the first session. The squad consisting of
Kamryn Robarge,
Isabel Waite,
Merriam Hagadorn and
Justine Stellmaker clocked in at 1:40.71. In the second session, it was the 800-free relay team claiming runner-up honors as
Ruth Huffman,
Hannah Oeltjen, Robarge and Beagle finished in a time of 8:06.61.

Individually, Huffman found success in the 200-free as she placed second in a time of 2:01.13.

The Vikings also had a trio of third-place individual finishes with Waite clocking in at 1:01.72 in the 100-fly,
Alysse Grohs in a time of 2:31.89 in the 200-breast and Robarge in 54.99 in the 100-free. Â

Augustana continues its abbreviated season Friday with a dual at South Dakota State.
